We deliver twice a week so you always have fresh meals on hand. Every dish arrives fresh, never frozen, in sealed packaging—but you can confidently freeze them to enjoy whenever it fits your schedule.
To get the best results, we recommend freezing meals that don’t include separate sauce packets or ingredients meant to be kept cold and crisp.
Great options for freezing include dishes like our Pasta Bolognese or Beef and Broccoli, which reheat evenly and maintain their flavour and texture.
Meals that contain fresh, crunchy components (such as coleslaw) are less ideal for freezing. For example, freezing a meal like our Jerk Chicken will significantly impact the texture of the fresh coleslaw, making it softer and more watery after thawing. For this reason, we suggest enjoying those fresh components within the recommended refrigerated timeframe instead of freezing them.
Here are a few tips to best enjoy a frozen OTR Meal:
- Freeze as soon as possible Place your meal in the freezer as soon as you know you won’t be eating it within the recommended refrigerated period. This helps lock in peak freshness and quality.
- Avoid freezing sauce containers and packets Sauce containers and packets are not reheatable and do not freeze well. If your meal includes a separate sauce or dressing, enjoy it fresh from the fridge rather than freezing it.
- Reheat slowly and evenly When you’re ready to enjoy your frozen meal, thaw it in the fridge overnight for the most even reheating. Then follow the standard heating instructions, checking and stirring halfway through if microwaving to ensure even warmth.
- Check texture and temperature before eating Once heated, make sure the meal is hot throughout, especially in the center. Some ingredients may soften slightly after freezing, which is normal, but the flavour and overall experience should still be delicious.
By choosing the right meals to freeze and following these simple tips, you can confidently enjoy OTR Meals at their best—whether you eat them fresh within a few days or save them for later in the week.
